Most recently, Nancy worked at HarperCollins Publishers as the Head of Talent & Audience Development. She sat on the publishing board and was responsible for leading and developing new acquisition and marketing strategies aimed at deepening engagement with writers and readers from underserved communities. During her time at HarperCollins, Nancy co-edited a landmark collection of personal essays from award-winning Nigerian authors and pitched ideas for books that went on to become instant Sunday Times Bestsellers. In 2020 she was named a Bookseller Rising Star, and the following year she was listed as one of the 150 most influential people in UK publishing.

Earlier in her career, Nancy’s interest in African stories led her to create AFREADA, an African literary magazine that now exists as an editorial brand under OtherStories. Through AFREADA, she has edited and published an eclectic range of short stories covering the breadth of Anglophone Africa and beyond. She leads a small team of talented creatives, and has grown the community to over 50,000 followers and subscribers. In 2023, Nancy co-curated Africa Writes, the UK’s largest celebration of contemporary African literature in partnership with the British Library, and she also served on the editorial board of Apollo Africa, Bloomsbury Publishing’s new home for 100 titles from the historic Heinemann African Writers Series.

Nancy has a keen interest in the transformative potential of stories beyond the literary world. As a member of the TEDxEuston organising team, she spent five years managing strategic partnerships with organisations such as Facebook (Meta), WorldRemit and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She has worked on storytelling projects with companies including Twitter and Spotify, and has delivered workshops and presentations for organisations including The Bookseller's Association and Fonds Soziokultur. As a speaker, she uses insights and trends to analyse new developments within creative and cultural industries, and recently delivered a keynote on the future of publishing at FutureBook 2023. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, the BBC, HuffPost and Harper’s Bazaar.

Prior to working in publishing, Nancy started her career with the African Private Equity and Venture Capital Association. She holds an MSc in Leadership and International Development with the African Leadership Centre at King's College London, and a Bachelor in Laws from Queen Mary, University of London.
