NancyAdimora
Nancy Adimora is the founder of OtherStories, a multidisciplinary storytelling studio that places underrepresented stories at the centre of global culture. Its portfolio includes a publishing consultancy, a boutique literary agency, and an award-winning literary magazine.
Most recently, Nancy worked at HarperCollins Publishers as the Head of Talent & Audience Development, where she sat on the publishing board and led efforts to deepen engagement with writers and readers from underserved communities. During her time at HarperCollins, Nancy developed industry-first partnerships and pitched ideas for books that went on to become instant Sunday Times Bestsellers. In 2020, she was named a Bookseller Rising Star, and the following year she was listed as one of the 150 most influential people in UK publishing.
In 2022, Nancy transitioned into consulting to expand her vision of democratising storytelling. She co-curated the UK’s largest celebration of contemporary African literature in partnership with the British Library, she served on the editorial board of Bloomsbury Publishing’s latest imprint, she’s delivered workshops for Afreximbank and the Commonwealth Foundation, and has led storytelling projects with companies including Meta, Twitter, and Spotify. Her work has been featured in The Guardian, the BBC, HuffPost, and Harper’s Bazaar, and she recently delivered a keynote on the transformative potential of storytelling at Cambridge University.
